DAY 2: FLY TO IQUITOS AND ENJOY THE AMAZON RAINFOREST | Treehouse Lodge - Bungalow

This day, you'll be transferred early to the Lima airport for your flight to the Iquitos rainforest. Upon arrival at the Iquitos airport, a shuttle will be waiting for you to take you to Nauta Port for 1 hour and 20 minutes, where you'll board a boat to the bungalows. This day, you can also take the option of a night cruise on the Amazon River, where with the help of a flashlight, you can identify different nocturnal species such as colorful frogs, bats, owls, caimans, and other species that exist throughout the tour. At night, spend the night in bungalows specially designed for that dream getaway; the bungalows are small houses built in the treetops and equipped with beds, sheets, a bathroom, and a shower.

It's also known as Aucaypata, a Quechua name meaning "important place." Currently, this place is surrounded by beautiful cobblestone streets, portals, and many tourists of different nationalities who visit the imperial city daily. It's also a favorite spot for visitors to enjoy the restaurants surrounding the square. We will pass through Av. el Sol. This is the main avenue, and here you will find banks, ATMs, and currency exchange offices, providing access to various attractions. Continuing our walk, we will reach the Temple of the Sun, Coricancha. Beautiful for its architecture, it was a very important religious structure during the Inca Empire. DAY 9: MARAS & MORAY SALT FIELDS TOUR | Cusco

After a delicious breakfast at your hotel in Cusco, your guide will pick you up at 8:00 am. You will head to the Maras Salt Mines (3,200 masl/10,499 ft). This journey takes approximately 1 hour. The road is paved, and near the Maras Salt Mines, it's a dirt road. Don't worry, the transportation will be adequate for your trip.
During the trip, we will observe fields of wheat, potatoes, barley, and other crops. During the rainy season, the landscape is impressive, as everything turns green. The inhabitants of these areas are dedicated to agriculture and animal grazing. There are more than 3,000 salt ponds located in this place. From the top, an incredible landscape can be seen. According to researchers, this product was formerly used to dehydrate food and make it last longer. Currently, this type of dehydration is used in remote communities. The residents who own the wells extract the salt every week. During the dry season, it is extracted every 2 to 3 days. This product is selected in layers and used for human, medicinal, and animal consumption. To generate salt, the wells are fed by springs found in the area's mountains. We will then continue to the archaeological site of Moray (3,500 masl/11,483 ft). This site was an agricultural laboratory where crops were grown in different altitudes. The circular terraces create a unique natural landscape. Afterwards, we will head back to Urubamba where we will have our buffet lunch. Then, we will continue to Ollantaytambo, where we will visit the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo (2,792 masl/9,161 ft). According to the constructions, this site was a military and religious center during the Inca era. This place is considered a top tourist town due to its unique architecture, cobblestone streets, and water channels, making visiting this place an incredible experience.
Afterwards, we will drop you off at your hotel in Cusco or at a restaurant so you can have lunch as you prefer.
