Day 1

Maras, Moray and Picnic breakfast looking at the Sacred Valley

Cusco is surrounded by mountains, and along the Sacred Valley, there are beautiful tourist viewpoints offering stunning views of snow-capped peaks and sacred sites. Mountain View is strategically located, providing a view of the Sacred Valley's snow-capped peaks and the beautiful arid and dry plains of Maras, which are covered with lush vegetation during the rainy season.

On this route, you will also find Moray, a site considered an agricultural laboratory for cultivating crops in different altitudinal zones. Additionally, we will visit the salt mines of Maras.

Day 1

Maras, Moray, and Picnic with a Mountain Sky View

Let’s get started! At a scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel and head out for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to our first stop: the archaeological site of Moray. This fascinating place features circular terraces used for ancient agricultural experiments. You can walk around these terraces, where the Incas might have tested and cultivated different plants.

After this historical explanation, we’ll continue to the impressive salt mines of Maras, a breathtaking landscape with thousands of individual salt pools. These salt pools, dating back to pre-Inca times, are still actively used by local families, and you will have the chance to witness the traditional salt extraction process.

Next, we will head to Mountain View, located at an altitude of 3,800 meters (12,468 feet), just a few minutes from Maras, to enjoy a personalized picnic. Surrounded by stunning landscapes, you’ll savor a delicious lunch while admiring the natural beauty of the mountains and snow-capped peaks in the distance. This is also the perfect moment to capture some of the best photographs.

At the end of the day, our comfortable transport will ensure a relaxing journey back to your hotel in Cusco.
