ITINERARY AT A GLANCE

Huchuy Qosqo, a Quechua name meaning "Little Cusco," is a trekking destination that will undoubtedly be perfect if you're looking for an experience filled with landscapes, culture, and nature. The tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Cusco, followed by a drive to the town of Chinchero, specifically to the Taucca area. We start with an ascent to a pass where we will be treated to beautiful views of mountain chains. We then continue along a steep route, passing through stunning ravines and Andean vegetation.

Upon reaching Huchuy Qosqo, we will be amazed by the architecture and the construction of this town on the highest peak. From here, we have an impressive view of the Sacred Valley. After some time to rest, we will begin the descent to Lamay, where transportation will be waiting to take us back to Cusco.

Day 1: Explore the archeological site denominated as “little Cusco”: Huchuy Qosqo.

We'll start our day early, picking you up around 7:00 to 7:30 am to start our journey. Our first stop brings us to Chinchero, a unique town with breathtaking landscapes and expansive agricultural fields. This town also is known as the land of the textiles.

After this quick stop, we will head to Taucca, from here, you will have a great view of Piuray Lagoon, adding some beautifulness to this trip.

Time to start! Our hike begins from Taucca, where you'll also receive your box lunch to keep you filled up. We'll gently ascend toward the Pucajasa pass, while walking, we have our hearts racing and ready for the inspiring views of the Urubamba mountain range. As we descend, we'll discover some ancient paths, part of the legendary Inca Trail.

Reaching Huchuy Qosqo, you'll be captivated by the remnants of Inca architecture laying on a mountain high above the Sacred Valley. This ancient site includes constructions such as terraced crops, temples, water channels, and expansive squares. The panoramic view of the Sacred Valley from this point is truly remarkable.
Here, we'll take a moment to enjoy our Box Lunch while admiring and losing ourselves into the scenery of the Incas.

Following a well-deserved break, we'll continue our way to Lamay, a small town in the Sacred Valley. It could take a 2-hour walk. At Lamay, our waiting transport will be ready to take us back to Cusco.
