FAQ about traveling to Peru

Explore everything you need to know about your trip to Peru. Let us help you create a truly magical travel experience.

That depends a lot on what you’re hoping to see. If you’re coming for Machu Picchu or the Andes in general, most people prefer the dry season like May through September because the weather’s more stable and there’s less rain. It’s also when everything’s in full swing.

But to be honest, the rainy season isn’t terrible either. Sure, you might get wet, but the mountains are super green and it’s less crowded. Some travelers love that kind of atmosphere.

So yeah, it really comes down to your style. Some like clear skies and others don’t mind a bit of mud if it means having the place more to themselves.

We always recommend it. Some spots like Machu Picchu or the Inca Trail can fill up weeks or even months ahead, especially during high season. If you wait until the last minute, there’s a chance you might miss out or have fewer options.

That said, if you’re already in Peru and decide to travel on short notice, send us a message. We’ll do our best to make it work. Sometimes we can still find availability or suggest good alternatives.

So, short answer: yes, better to book early but if you’re late, talk to us anyway. We’ve helped plenty of last-minute travelers before.

Yes, absolutely. We have solo travelers all the time.

You won’t feel alone though our groups are friendly and small, and our guides make sure everyone feels part of the experience. If you’re more into private options, we can also arrange something just for you. Either way, traveling solo in Peru doesn’t mean traveling alone.

Some of our best clients came here solo and left with new friends.

For the most part, yes it’s safe, especially if you’re going with a local operator who knows the routes, the towns, and how to move around.

Like any destination, it helps to be aware of your surroundings, avoid flashing valuables, and follow the advice of your guide. We keep track of local updates all the time, and we never take you somewhere that doesn’t feel right.

We’ve guided families, solo travelers, couples… and they’ve all felt safe and cared for.
