We wake early to pick you up at approximately 4:00 a.m. for the journey of almost 2 hours to Cusipata.
A restorative breakfast awaits us, giving us energy for the hike ahead.
After receiving your trekking poles, we begin the hike of about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Along the way, alpacas and llamas graze peacefully, wild flora colors the landscape, and the snowy Ausangate watches over us from the distance.
And then you see it. The Mountain of 7 Colors, a masterpiece of nature painted in vibrant hues. Time for photographs and to simply enjoy the peace at the top.
We return to the starting point, enjoy a buffet lunch in the town, and then make our way back to Cusco. The tour ends near the Plaza de Armas, with the colors of the mountain still dancing in your eyes.

That depends a lot on what you’re hoping to see. If you’re coming for Machu Picchu or the Andes in general, most people prefer the dry season like May through September because the weather’s more stable and there’s less rain. It’s also when everything’s in full swing.
But to be honest, the rainy season isn’t terrible either. Sure, you might get wet, but the mountains are super green and it’s less crowded. Some travelers love that kind of atmosphere.
So yeah, it really comes down to your style. Some like clear skies and others don’t mind a bit of mud if it means having the place more to themselves.
We always recommend it. Some spots like Machu Picchu or the Inca Trail can fill up weeks or even months ahead, especially during high season. If you wait until the last minute, there’s a chance you might miss out or have fewer options.
