Day 1: First day of Adventure: Our first camping day before arriving to Choquequirao
Are you ready for adventure?
Today, we're leaving Cusco at 5:00 a.m. on our private transportation, driving for about 4 hours (approx) to Cachora town. Here on our first stop, we'll have breakfast at a local restaurant. Next, we'll head to Capuliyoc, where our hike begins. Put on some sunscreen, this will now start!
After a bit of walking, we'll reach Capuliyoc Pass. From there, we'll see amazing views of Choquequirao in the distance and the impressive Apurímac Canyon. After admiring the impressive landscape and enjoying some of the nature, we'll hike down for about three hours, until we reach Chiquisca, a small tropical village where we'll have lunch. With our stomach filled up, it is time to continue.
To finish up this day, we'll head to Rosalina Beach. From there, we can see a big bridge we'll use to cross the powerful Apurímac River. Then, get ready for a hot two-and-a-half-hour uphill hike to Santa Rosa, where we'll set up camp on a local family's land.
Enjoy a dinner with fresh ingredients under the stars and get ready for the second day!

Day 2: Heads up! It is Choquequirao’s day!
It is Choquequirao day!
Today, we embark on a journey to Choquequirao, often called the "birthplace of gold"! We'll wake up early, have a delicious breakfast, and prepare for an early start walk to beat the hard sun. It's a three-hour uphill trek to the view spot of Marampata. From there, it's a simple path for an hour and a half approx. to reach Choquequirao itself.
This is an ancient Incan archaeological site located high in the Andes Mountains of Peru. Often referred to as the "sister" or "twin" of Machu Picchu, Choquequirao features impressive terraces, ceremonial platforms, temples, and residential areas spread across a vast complex. Known as the "Lost City of the Incas," it offers a glimpse into the rich history and architectural prowess of the Incan civilization. The site's remote location and fewer visitors provide a serene and intimate experience, allowing travelers to explore its wonders with a sense of tranquility and privacy.
Once we arrive, we'll explore every main spot —the vast ruins, central squares, ceremonial altars, and interconnected spaces. The best of all is that you'll have Choquequirao to yourself, since, as we said before, it is a less crowded adventure.
After a full day of historical marvels, we'll have a well deserved lunch admiring the stunning scenery. Later, we'll return to Marampata, with lots of memories to have dinner and rest.

Day 3: Time to go back, admiring the beauty of nature.
During our 3rd day, now it is time to go back!
Today, we'll have an early breakfast before continuing to Chiquisca. On our way, we'll make a stop at Santa Rosa to have some snacks and take some fresh air.
We will continue descending to Rosalina Beach. Here you will feel a bit warm since the temperature will increase. Once we arrive, we'll have our lunch by the Apurímac River, a unique experience in the andes.
Almost arriving at our last campsite, we'll hike up for about an hour through the valley until we reach the campsite in Chiquisca. There, we'll enjoy a well deserved dinner and rest.

Day 4: Time to say goodbye! End of the trek
Today is our last day walking through the mountains.
An early wake up and a tasty breakfast it's a good way to start our day. Now, it is time to walk! We'll walk for about four hours approx., following the same path we took before until we reach Capuliyoc. From there, we'll have an incredible view of the Apurímac Canyon. Our private transport will be waiting to take us to our hotel back to Cusco.
That is not the last thing to do! After an hour, passing through Cachora, we will arrive at Sayhuite. Here we will have an historical moment visiting the Sayhuite Monolith, a large stone block with carved figures that have interesting stories. This will be the end of our tour. We will take you to your hotel, hoping that you had the best time of your life!
